About Andy Buchanan:

Born in 1981, Andy Buchanan is a native Texan and fine artist currently living in the Asheville, North Carolina region. Andy has always been a lover of the outdoors, but his many interests include music, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, bike-riding, and nature photography. All of which have greatly impacted the direction of his learning and his art career.

His art education in the early years often took on the shape of during and after-school painting, drawing, and clay sculpture classes and camps. All of that turned out to be a major catalyst, jump-starting his proficiency in creating and it helped spark an obsession with detail work, which grew steadily throughout middle school, high school, and college as well.
Professionally, he got started in the commercial art world working for a company that required his skills to design and paint murals and sculpt large decorations and sculptures for museums, restaurants, and also some private clientele across the country and even as far as the Caribbean. Since then, he’s completed various murals, and branched into more personalized work mostly involving oil paintings.

And though the winds of change are always at his back, for now, Asheville, North Carolina is proving to be a fantastic place to live and work doing what he loves most: Create.
